The harvesting of citrus fruits with leaves is increasingly demanded by the end markets. Following the philosophy of provided value to the fruit industry, we detected a problem shared by all the those producing and marketing this type of fruit presentation. The problem lies in that when cutting the branch with a conventional shear, the hard end of this causes a high percentage of pinches to other fruits during the post-harvest process. That is why we have designed a model capable of softening the end of the branch when this is cut by the picker.
